Set Sail Wrap-Up

Our "Set Sail with MetroDolls" luncheon launched last Sunday overlooking the water at the beautiful Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank, NJ.  We raised almost $11,000 for Toys for Tots with our OOAK charity auction.  All of the MetroDolls members were on board for making this day the success that it was!

All guests were greeted at the registration desk and given their tote bag with souvenir fashion Island Getaway by Ruby Red Galleria.

Inside the room, the tables were decorated tropically with briget colored luggage and table gifts as well as our centerpiece Vivian doll by David Escobedo of DAE, Tennis Anyone?

The travel stickers are adorable on the luggage!

The centerpiece doll was "Tennis Anyone", a 16" resin Vivian doll by David Escobedo of DAE based on Jane Russell in the "Ain't There Anyone Here for Love?" number in "Gentlemen Prefer Blonds."

A very limited number of DAE Monty dolls were available in "I'm Here for Love" to accompany Vivian:

We had an astounding array of helper items from generous donors.

The auction had a gorgeous array of OOAK fashions by many generous artists, raising nearly $11,000 for Toys for Tots!

Metrodolls created this Stateroom Trunk set as a club project, including a JamieShow doll repainted by Laurie Lenz.

The MetroDolls sales table offered a variety of tropical-themed outfits commissioned by many talented artists - be sure to check our sales page for remaining items.

We also had a fundraising sales table of items from generous donors.

And some quality vendors with their items!

John Davey presented a selection from his extensive Hollywood costume exhibit and did a presentation with Q&A during dessert.  The theme was "Nautical Hollywood" and included items from Bette Davis (Now Voyager), Jane Russll (The French Line), Deborah Kerr (An Affair to Remember), Sophia Loren (Houseboat), Kate Winslet (Titanic) and Elizabeth Taylor (personal collection... worn on her yacht), among others.

Robert Tonner was our guest speaker and spoke about how he goes about designing a new doll and the challenges of working with China.  Here he is with MetroDolls' President Michael Giunta and Vice-President Marcia Friend.

Our amazing club did an amazing job!!
